Do not ruin your case! Do not talk about your case over the jail or visitation phones.

Do you know that the Sarasota County Jail (and basically all other jails) records ALL communications: all phone calls and all visitation visits? The prosecutors and detectives can and regularly do listen to these recordings. They can even listen from the comfort of their offices on their desk computers!


What this means is: DO NOT TALK ABOUT YOUR OR YOUR LOVED ONE'S CASE over the phones or during visitation. You would be surprised about how many times things said over the jail phone are later used against a defendant in court or used to put pressure on the defendant to plea.
